Animals

Ok, so I am a dog lover. I have a 1 1/2 year old yellow lab that I absolutely love to death. If anything was to go wrong with him, I would get it fixed, no matter the cost. Recently, I got in the conversation with a guy about dogs. He said he knew of somebody that spent $2,000 to fly his dog somewhere to get a hip replacement. He said he could not believe it and would never spend that much money on an animal. I told him that I would, because my dog is part of our family. I want to hear from you guys on this topic. How important are your animals to you? Do you consider your animals a part of your family? How much would you spend on your animal if your animal was in need of anything? I love my animals and would spend whatever I needed to to get them fixed or whatever they needed if in need.

Do's and Don'ts of Pregnancy

As I mentioned earlier, me and my wife are expecting. We have read a lot about the do's and don'ts when pregnant. We have learned that you should not eat cold lunch meat, should keep your sodium low, stay away from eating certain fish, ect. I would love to hear from anybody who would like to share more information about the do's and the don'ts of pregnancy.
My wife is very healthy, does not drink or smoke, and takes care of herself. I think we are doing most of the things that we should be doing. I just want to hear from you guys to see if we are missing anything. We are very excited to be having our first baby!!!

Supplements

When I was in high school, I was not big on taking supplements. I ate the right foods, and did my workouts. Now, teaching in a high school, I see a lot more supplementation. I guess teaching PE and Weight Lifting, I will see a lot more of that stuff. I just don't remember it being so prevalent when I was in high school 10 years ago. Most students don't even know what they are taking. They use it because of what they hear about it. Now I will say I do take supplements now, but I know exactly what I am putting into my body.

Year Round Schooling

I created this post just to see what other people thought about this topic. I was wanting to hear pros and cons to year round schooling. I have heard paople say they would rather have year round schooling instead of a long summer break. I am not with them on this. I love my summers! It is nice to look forward to a 2 month break that you can vacation, work a part time job, get projects done, ect. I can also see the other side of the topic, where there would be more breaks, but smaller breaks. I have just always been up for keeping the summer vacations. I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

High School Athletes

I created this blog to get other people's thoughts on how to work with athletes who do not want to work, or care about working hard at the high school level. At the school I teach at, we have a lot of athletes, but a lot of them don't want to work to get better. They want everything to be given to them. I just want to get some advice from anyone who might be experiencing the same thing, or have experienced this before.
